Facts of AutoCAD
AutoCAD is a software application for Computer Aided Drafting (CAD). The software supports both 2D and 3D formats. The AutoCAD software developed and sold by Autodesk, inc., first released in December 1982. AutoCAD is Autodesk’s flagship product and by March 1986 had become h most ubiquitous micro-computer design program in the world, utilizing functions such as “polylines and cover fitting.” According to Autodesk company information, the AutoCAD software is now used in a range of industries, employed by architects, project managers and engineers, amongst other professions.
The latest version of AutoCAD includes a full set of basic solid modeling and 3D tools. The release of AutoCAD 2016 included the improved 3D modeling that provides better navigation when working in 3D. Moreover it becomes easier to edit 3D models.
Creating
ARC in AutoCAD
To create an Arc in AutoCAD,
combinations of center, end point, start point, radius, angle, chord length,
and direction values have to be specified. Except the first method, arcs are
drawn in counter-clock wise direction from start to end point.
Following method are used to draw the
arc according to the availability:
1. 3
Point: the method
helps to create an arc by specifying three points, such that the first and last
point will be the start and end point of arc. And the second point is such that
the circumference of arc will passes through it.
2. Start,
Center and End point:
This method helps to create an arc using start point, center point and a third
point which determine the end point of arc. The distance between start point
and center point determine the radius value of arc. The end point is determined
by a line from center point that passes through the third point. The resulting
arc always created in counter clock wise from start to end points. There is one
more method by which we can specify either the start point first or the center
point first.
3. Start,
Center, and Angle:
This method helps to create an arc using start point, center point and an
included angle. The distance between start point and center point determine the
radius value of arc. The resulting arc created in coulter clock wise or clock
wise direction according to given value of angle either in positive (+) or
negative (-).There is one more method by which we can specify either the start
point first or the center point first.
4. Start,
Center and Length: This
method create an arc using start point, center point and the length of chord.
The distance between start point and center point determine the radius value of
arc.The resulting arc created in coulter clock wise or clock wise direction. There
is one more method by which we can specify either the start point first or the
center point first.
5. Start,
End, and Angle: This method
create an arc using start point, end point and included angle of the arc. The
included angles between both the end points determine the radius and center
point of an arc.
6. Start,
End, and Direction:
This method create an arc using start point end point and a tangent directional
angle value at start point. The tangent direction can be specified either by
locating a point on desired tangent line, or by entering an angle value. This
angle will consider at the first start point specified in arc.
7. Start,
End, and Radius: This method
create an arc using start point, end point and radius. The direction of bulge
of the arc is determined by the order in which the endpoints are specified. The
radius can be specified either by entering its value or by specifying a point
at the desired radius distance.
Note that the next methods of creating arc
are such that we have only to change the order of specifying the start point
and center point locations in second third and forth method described above.
